Post by: Ralf Night on August 14, 2008, 01:05:00 PM
i'm "new" in editing the themes, and when i try do to sth it always gets stuck :S I need help... I need help in editing the style, i would like to remove this sidebar in right in this theme: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/index.php?cat=5&theme=fieldofsand and widen the table with albums instead of this stupid submenu:) and also i would be over the moon if somebody would change also theme.php for... hard to explain :p I would like to have the albums IN the category, not in the index page, i mean something like there: http://galeria.tatunews.net/ :) Thanks in advance for your bless answer!

There is a one question rule in affect in this forum so for future posts please observe this rule. It will take some time to change the theme and test it before giving an answer but you didn't say where you wanted the menu to go unless you meant like the link you provided and put it above the gallery. You could also look through the demo site (http://coppermine-gallery.net/Obsolete) and chose one that has a layout you like, download it then look at the theme.php and template.html and see how it's done. Then apply these changes to your theme. This way you will learn more and be ready for future editing.

As for the albums in categories, you as the admin have the power to do that right in the admin configuration section. All you have to do is put all your albums into categories and then you'll have your layout. Read the manual to get more info on this.

[EDIT] Sorry I forgot to add this link (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,31423.0.html) to tools that you can use for theme development. I use Firefox and Firbug alot.

First of all thanks for the answer,

I wish you to think sometime, if i haven't written where i want this menu it means that.... guess what :) that i don't want this menu :) easy? :)

I've tried but when i do it, there are always mistakes :S I lost my patience.

No i can't, in oxygen it is the way i want, in for example this fieldofsand it's not the way i wish to, so it's not in my hands to change it, it depends on layout ;)

Replies like that are dead sure method to get no reply at all by supporters >:(. You better review your attitude! Gizmo asked where you want that menu to appear. If you want to get rid of it completely, you should say so, because in your initial post you have not.
You have a record of misbehaving here on the board. Stop the snappy answers and behave according to board rules or you'll get more than a snide reply from me, but a ban >:(.

I've tried to remove it by myself but it doesn't work... Anyone knows how to get rid of this not to spoiling that style?
