Title: administrator tools
Post by: chkla on September 15, 2008, 09:56:43 AM
Administrator tools are not very wel explained in the manual. In text they seem to do what I like them to do but the using of the 4th and the 7th effected for me in a database mess and needed a restore.

Maybe it's better that I describe what I want to do and maybe you have a better solution:
I have put a number of pictures in several albums which I have improved (and still am improving) afterwards.
So I want to update these pictures in my coppermineabums, but want to keep the comments and the times it has been looked up.
In other words: I want to replace the original picture, and make a new normal and thumbnail of the new original and keep all the metadata.
I tried to realize this with the administrator tools but finally it always ends up in a mess.
I also removed the original from the server and replaced it by the new picture directly in the directory, that didn't work either.
Of course uploading it as a new named picture that's is no problem at all, but then all my metadata are lost.

A hint for a working solution would be appreciated.

Kind regards, Chris P. van der Klauw

Administrator tools are not very wel explained in the manual.
Try the corresponding section in the preliminary docs for cpg1.5.x (http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/admin-tools.htm#admin_tools) - they should be more detailed.
