Title: My gallery has no thumbs...!
Post by: mariamsr on September 17, 2008, 03:03:23 PM
Ok, my gallery is: http://www.7crgallery7.co.cc/Gallery/index.php

I transfered it from another server, and finally it seems to be working, but as you can see if you visit the gallery, there are some images that have no thumbs... Can you help me?!

Thanks in advance,
Maria

Do you have set "755" your albums folder and all subfolder?

admin menue ---> config ---> Files and thumbnails advanced settings --> Default mode for directories

Yes, it is really strange... But if you go by this link: http://www.7crgallery7.co.cc/Gallery/index.php and then to some images it doesnt give that error. It just doesnt show the image or the thumb... I changed server and I tranfered the whole gallery... So something might have gone wrong. But it is strange taht all the names of categories and albums , but the files itself aren't isn't it? I have to upload all pictures trhough ftp too? I uploaded one, and it still couldn't see the image on the gallery...

Help please...

Thanks,
Maria

Yes you must upload the whole (old) album folder again, if you only install an update the database there are no picture.

You must now upload the OLD album folder and set it an all folders to 755.

In the backup is only you DATABASE not the picture files.

Not only the thumbs are missing, but all your pics. As McKenzie suggested: restoring the database is not enough - you need to restore the content of the albums folder as well.

Ok I'll do it, but changing to 755 is really necessary? I mean during coppermine installation it is said to chege from 755 to 777...

Thanks,
Maria

Forget the permissions for now. Do as I suggested and restore the images that are missing.
