This is a little "what do you do?" thread.
I've just launced a family gallery at www.e-frederiksen.dk (http://www.e-frederiksen.dk) but I'm a bit puzzled how to organize the categories and albums the best way.
If you look at my gallery you can see that I've tried to make categories for the different families. Then I wanted to make an album called "Family and friends" for each family but this makes a problem when one should upload - because the names are the same.
So what would be the best way to go about and to have unique album names?
There is a mod available toshow the category as well as the album name in the dropdown lists. Search the mods board.
OR,
wait for the official release of 1.3, which has this,
OR,
if confident, upgrade now to the beta version of 1.3
Thanks casper! I've fooled around with sub-categories and that might be the way to organize my gallery.
I've found out that it's not possible to have thumbsnails for the sub-categories - will that be possible in 1.3?

Yes

Cool, sounds like 1.3 is getting quite advanced - any idea when it's due to be released?
Still on the sub-categories - on your demo page the categories are at the top and the thumbnails below. Is there anything special about this? At my gallery the thumbs are at the top.
Which thumbs are at the top, the category thumbs above the category names? or the random etc above the categories?
I would like to have the "Denmark, Feb 2004" album below the last category "Laura and Jimmy" like your "Fruit" is below "Food".
That is usual behaviour.
'Fruit' is an album (not sub-category) within the 'food' category. In config, 'Show first level album thumbnails in categories' should be set to YES.

"Denmark, Feb 2004" album below the last category "Laura and Jimmy"
If your album 'Denmark, Feb 2004' is in the "Laura and Jimmy" category, this should be the result.
It's se to "Yes". But the "Denmark Feb 2004" is in the "Family" category, so I guess that's reason why. Thanks.
*grrr that session timeout is freakin me out!*
