Title: Unable to Batch Ad photos
Post by: heat622 on October 27, 2008, 02:54:34 AM
Hello! I recently took over a website for a friend and with that came my first introduction to Coppermine.

When I FTP images and then try to batch add them, I keep getting this error message: Warning: the script can't write in this directory, you need to change its mode to 755 or 777 before trying to add the files!

I checked the permissions on the following directories - "include", "albums", "albums/userpics", and "albums/edit" - and all were set at 777. (My friend had already created a new directory in albums where I can FTP my images.) So I changed the permisions to 755, but I'm still getting the error message when I go to batch add them.

Any idea why I keep getting this error? ??? Does it perhaps have anything to do with the fact that my friend had her original FTP program, and now I'm trying to use mine? Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated. This is the link to the gallery... http://www.gaelfan.net/gallery/

My info: FTP client is FlashFXP, WinXP, Internet Cable

Try to change the CHMOD form the files manager that your web host gives to you. Sometimes the FTP client doesn't show the real permission you're using for your folders.

Permission section of the docs: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#permissions
Most important senctence in that section:
QuoteIf you can't figure how to set permissions properly, ask your webhost for support.
