Title: So clueless *upload question*
Post by: starlet311 on April 24, 2004, 04:24:14 PM
??? Hello. I love the way coppermine looks, and I want it on my own website, but I have one small problem... what folder on my server do I upload the files to? cgi-bin? public_html?

or do I just upload my whole coppermine folder and work from there? If so...where do I upload that.  :-[

any help would be greatly appreciated.  :)

You start by reading the documentation (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php) that comes with coppermine, then your have a look at the faq (in your case especially at I've posted my question a while ago, but nobody answers. What the...? (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/faq.php?q=lamesupport#lamesupport)).

Then I suggest you have a look at your webhost's docs as well, since the answer to your question is easy to give, but you'll surely run into other problems if such a basic question is already a matter for concern (maybe you should start by creating a "standard" webpage instead of installing a pre-made script that uses PHP, mySQL and a graphics lib).

You didn't have a very good start on this board imo ;)...

rudeness... that's not cool...you come here to get help, not to put down others...

I have searched all morning, but I cannot find the answer.
All I can find is: Upload all files onto your webserver (make sure to use the correct ftp mode)

what folder would that be in?  ???

If you can't give any assistance, don't post...

And I do have a website... I have very good web skills...this is the first time installing coppermine.

now is there anyone *nice* who knows the answer to my question?  :)

It will work if you upload it in public-html :)

And all your other pages reside in the cgi-bin? ;)

Come on, I didn't mean to sound rude; like I said: find out what the cgi-bin on your webserver is for (not on this board, but can be easily googled), then this question wouldn't have come up...
