Title: Critical Error
Post by: dmdemore on December 22, 2008, 07:18:41 PM
I didn't know where to post this so hope I found the  right place.

my url is
http://galleries.firthessence.net/JustColin/index.php

it is coppermine 1.4

Today I was batch uploading some files, got that done. Then went to edit the files (to name them). I got to the right page and set the drop down from 25 to 100 at a time. Got that done, then needed to go to the next set of photos (101 - 200) but after I clicked the link to do so and was waitng I was wanting to shut other pages I had opened but hit the wrong X and the gallery closed too.  When I went back (reopened it) I got

CRITICAL ERROR WHILE PROCESSING A DATABASE QUERY

Here are the 2 messages:

While executing query "SELECT * FROM cpg_pictures WHERE approved = 'YES'  ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 10" on 0

mySQL error: Got error -1 from storage

The forum will not allow me to post the whole of the second message as it is too large, so I will post some of it here.

Don't post debug output unless asked to do, it clutters up the board pretty quickly.
You have 1.4.16 at your site. Upgrade first to 1.4.19

Does not seem to be a cpg error but more related to MySql.

Searching for the error message (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search2;search=mySQL%20error%20Got%20error%20-1%20from%20storage%20engine) you got is dead easy. Has been asked and answered. As Hein suggested: not a coppermine issue. Ask your webhost for support. As Hein suggested as well: upgrade!!!

Apologies for posting a redundant thread. I was a bit desperate. Last year I lost a 2 yr old forum and now this gallery with over 16,000 pics.

Appreciate the help and pointers to the original discussion. Unfortunately, I have no idea what any of that means.

(I did do the MySQL and nothing changed)

I'll try the upgrade and cross my fingers. The last time I upgraded one of these programes I lost all the content and had to start completely over.
