Title: I think i screwed myself... tried to integrate, didn't like it, now no users!
Post by: Joemonkey on April 26, 2004, 03:44:38 AM
I had coppermine installed for a week or so, had 10 users using it and about 100 pictures in 15 different albums

i decided i wanted to integrate it to my phpBB2 forums, and it went fine, but after the install all the existing albums and pics weren't showing up!

so, i went back to the default phpbb.inc.php and init.inc.php files, and now i have NO users and NO albums.  I can still see the 10001, 10002, etc. directories and all the pics are there

is there any way to get the old users back?  or is everyone going to have to re-register and re-upload everything?

if you have pics in the user gallery and decide to switch bbs integration on, you'll have a count of zero users from coppermine, but a number of users from phpbb. Since none of them has created a user gallery yet, you have zero user galleries. This is expected behaviour. Undoing the changes in init.inc.php should revert your gallery back to how it used to be before the integration, but remember to visit the groups manager once, to trigger a sync of the groups.
If this doesn't help, please post a link and a test user account (non-admin).

meh, i ended up telling everyone to just register again and re-make albums, then doing batch picture uploads

It isn't actually users that are your problem, rather your old Coppermine group IDs have all been deleted because of the integration. If you have a backup of your Coppermine database, you should be able to somehow restore the usergroups table.

Also, bear in mind that any pictures and comments uploaded while the integration was live will become 'orphaned'
