Title: ported/modded or whatever!
Post by: Halfhidden on March 03, 2009, 12:44:05 AM
I've been around the block on this one. I love Coppermine and have looked at the competitors only for ease of integration and found all of them (paid or otherwise) seriously less powerful than Coppermine on features. Coppermine has some great bridges but it's difficult to find a real integration for those who need more.
Is there a port for Coppermine. I know you supported Post Nuke with thier port but they have since demised, and dragonflycms.org (but there port is seriously out of date). Or is there an alternative to ports?
What would be the best way to seemingly combine Coppermine with a portal (preferably) or forum. Not to dilute the identity of Coppermine but to enhance the experience of the user and so not to make them think that they are in fact using more than one script. Are there any official trains of thought on this or a script that is suited to Coppermine for porting with support?

There are two integrations that I'm aware of that deal with this seriously: the PragmaMX (http://www.pragmamx.org/) port and Cas Nuy's pnCPG (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/board,14.0.html) (for Zikula, formerly known as PostNuke), which is more an add-on for coppermine than a port. I'm aware that the e107 community provides a port as well that goes unsupported from our side.
