Post by: jami23 on April 12, 2009, 04:02:18 AM
Hello again :-\
I have new version CPG.21 but I didn't seen line about unable using bb code. For me is it very important, so i just want ask if is possible go back on CPG.20. If yes, how? please. Or is here now some alternate way instead bb code? I didn't found.

Possible, yes. Advisable, totally not! Only if you are the only member it's OK to undo the upgrading. If you have another member registered one of them could become Admin of your gallery and delete your account in a matter of seconds. So, if you allow visitors to register do not undo the upgrade you made.

Ok, than what if I set for old members "banned" and for new members do not let registering. Than is it safe? And how can I restore? Is it same as upgrading? Just reinstall with old version and go on update.php? I been searching but not sure.

What are you trying to acomplish?

Downgrading is not a good idea. The bbcode features have been temporarily dropped for a reason.

If you need the old bbcode features back desperately and your gallery qualifies as monolithic gallery without user interaction (so that you can be safe that only you as admin and definitely no end user will be adding bbcode), there are instructions in the docs that come with cpg1.4.21 how to re-enable the disabled bbcode tags. Going back to cpg1.4.20 is not an option. Your question shows that you haven't read the docs nor the announcement. Do so now.
