I am a total newb when it comes to Coppermine, so please be patient with me.
A friend and I are working on a fansite together and we want to use Coppermine for our galleries. I got it installed and I read the documentation on themeing. I use Firefox and I have the web developer toolbar, which is quite helpful for viewing real-time CSS and HTML changes. So after I completed my initial edit, I used this tool to fix the rest of it. It looked great, seamlessly fitting in with our layout. I uploaded the newest edit of the codes, validated the CSS and HTML, but still, for some reason, a few elements (menu background, footer background, etc.) are refusing to show up, even though the filepaths are correct. When I open the Web Developer toolbar to Edit CSS, the missing elements suddenly show up before I have even edited anything. So, I know they are in the code, but I can't figure out why they don't show up under normal circumstances. I have even tried writing the missing files into the HTML file and they still don't show up. I haven't uploaded any pics yet because I'm trying to get the layout working. I also made header and footer PHP files and put those in under the admin area and those don't work either. I just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. ???
This is what the rest of our site looks like (we're not live yet, so beware of broken links): http://www.spocklives.com/index2.php
And this is what the gallery is looking like: http://www.spocklives.com/gallery
Help?
As soon as I opened your site I right click and select "Show Backgroun Image" and a beautiful 404 Not Found shows up. http://www.spocklives.com/gallery/themes/gallery/themes/spocklives/images/bg.jpg
Please, check one by one the paths.. It's not posible to have this "gallery/themes/gallery/themes/spocklives" as your backgruond path.
Then, come back and we will be patiente if you show that you do your home work ;)
In the image paths in the CSS, I had them as '../gallery/themes/spocklives/images/bg.jpg' because they weren't showing up for some reason before. I've shortened them all to 'images/image_name.jpg' and now it shows up correctly. I knew it had to be a stupid mistake, thank you for pointing that out.
Thanks for coming back and mark your thread as solved,
Regards,
