Title: [Solved]: Strange problem with edits
Post by: Deus on May 25, 2009, 08:27:19 PM
I've edited and chopped away at a theme, cant remember which one, one of the defaults is all I know.
Well, the problem is, no matter what edits I make, (after I added some nav buttons), locally it shows the edits, remotely it wont.
I have tried everything I can think of short of reinstalling CPG, and yes, I've removed and resintalled the template from a backup, and amazingly it still shows exactly the same layout.
Now, you'll be thinking that I did'nt clear my browser cache, well I did, and I tried to view the page with IE instead of FF, and still it's the same.
I ran the code through dreamweaver to see if I forgot to close a tag somewhere, nope, it's damn near perfect.
I am using Web Dev Toolbar, and the only problems lie with minor tweaks meant for FF and not IE. These will be sorted eventually.

If anyone wants to see the code, plmk, it's driving me mad, I've been at this for 8 hrs, all to remove a border.

Ok, forgot to mention some other strange artifacts...
I cant change themes. If I try, all I get is a miss match of the default and the alternative.
Another thing, the local file size differs from the remote file size, it's only a few hundred bytes, but it's definately not the same.
I assume this is possibly down to cluster size.
I've also tried to edit the file in cpanel and save that, again, no change, and changing the R/W attributes makes no difference, my ftpclient reports a good upload.
I also tried to edit an older version from a backup, still no change.
Yet, when I download the file, it shows the edits.

Always warn users that your links/site might not be 100% "work safe".

Upgrade your Coppermine installation, you are running behind and might get hacked.
Quote<!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.20 (stable)-->

After you upgrade make sure that you have no extra template files in your gallery root directory.

OMG it worked.
I've just got back from a month long holiday in Canada and was planning to do it today, but got caught up with this.
All because I copied the template.html to the gallery root by mistake.

Nevermind, it's fixed, thank you I-Imagine.
Time to get cracking on the update.

Mods, you can lock it now if you like, it's fixed.
Make sure no template files exist in the gallery root.

edit: Thanks Joachim
