Title: [Solved]: Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image.
Post by: callags on June 05, 2009, 07:01:08 AM
Hello,

Have been running without issue for the past 6 months. This morning had an issue with file upload to any album. Files selected in browser interface do not show thumbnail(this was the first change I noticed) and will not upload to album using batch upload (Unable to create thumbnail or reduced size image). User HTTP upload also fails.. please see both logs below.

Have recreated image dir + checked 777 permissions on all required dir + tried other jpg files.

Out of ideas ?

Cheers to you for newborn. I bet you're exited. However, you broke a lot of rules on this board by posting straight away, which just makes your posting look cluttered and makes it impossible to help you because you failed to makie the needed changes on your site. Read up the docs, especially the section "asking for support on upload issues". Read that section extra thoroughly and do exactly as suggested there. The bits you obviously failed to read:
Quote# Set the upload form configuration for all groups to "Single file uploads only"

   1. set File upload boxes to "1" (1)
   2. set URI upload boxes to "0" (2)
   3. set No. of boxes to "fixed" (3)
and
QuoteDo not post debug_output unless requested

Hello,

Thanks for your response. I did read section 4.11.5 (agreed I missed the do not debug post) and 4.11.6 did not have a valid error relating to my problem. Can you please post the link you referenced these quotes from so I can troubleshoot. I followed the http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/faq.htm#uploadGeneralTroubleshooting before posting this question.

Thanks

Read up the docs, especially the section "asking for support on upload issues".
Link at the top of this page, but anyway, here you go: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm
Deep link to the section in question: http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_support - that is the section 4.11.5 of the docs you refered to. Scrolling a little bit up (section "4.11.4 Upload troubleshooting (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_trouble)") explains what settings you need to make - as suggested in 4.11.5 Asking for support on upload issues (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#upload_support):
QuoteWhen asking for support on the coppermine forum, post a link to your site and a test user account (the test user mustn't be in the admin group!) with upload privileges, with the above mentioned settings in place

Hello,

Thanks for all your help on this issue. I stumbled on a seemly unrelated post "The resize engine was set to Image Magick instead of GD version 2" but this did the trick.

Many Thanks ! Great Support Board.
