I am trying to set up a nature website using cpg and i'd like some changes made to the layout.
I would like to have a collapsable menu of categories in a sidebar so that users can browse at any depth as far as species are concerned. The main content should the last uploaded images.
Let me know if this is something you can do and I'll go into more detail!
Thanks.
Please read and follow the board rules (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,8170.0.html)
More details.

Time schedule is flexible.
Budget for small project (under 500) to be agreed on before work begins.
I am using project vii theme and like it but can change if developer needs. Ideally The categories div can be moved to sidebar and main content will be last images uploaded. The user can get more specific in terms of species by clicking the categories on the sidebar.
Looking forward to a reply!

What do you mean with 'sidebar'? Something like you see in the attached screenshot?

500
what? Eggs? ;)
...but that sidebar (similar thing available at http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,6119.0.html for cpg1.4.x) is a browser add-on that would need to be converted to a sidebar embedded into your gallery. Clarification: this advise is available free of charge (without paying 500 whatevers ;)), and I'm not volunteering for the job.

That's exactly what I want to know. 8) Do you want a browser add-on or should the sidebar be integrated to your gallery?
Basically, the browser add-on just creates another HTML/JavaScript page and displays that in a window of it's own that the browser locates at the side of the browser window, so if you want o accomplish this quick and dirty you just use an iframe to generate the content that usually is being displayed in the browser sidebar.
A more sophisticated approach would be not to use an iframe, but just use the logic to come up with the category structure and display just that.
thanks for all the advice everyone. i searched around a lot and could not find a way to do this that I could complete.
Here is what I want.
I understand that. What I said applies then: only the part of the code for the sidebar that actually comes up with the category list needs to be applied then, which is pretty straightforward. You might want to clarify what currency the "500" that you posted as max budget applies to. Or do you leave that to the potential taker? That would be 500 Euros in my case, which is pretty much more than USD 500. For EUR 500 I will do that job, but you certainly will find other takers who will ask for less.

I can do the job for you as well. But I'd like to have a paydown, because I didn't get paid twice in the past.

that's no problem. how can we discuss more details privately? I can't send messages.
I sent you a PM with my email address. Please contact me and I'll show you an example :)
Fieldguide decided to use another software. As of now I will demand a paydown before I start coding >:(
You do seem to get stung a lot. I very rarely do work so I suppose I am lucky.
André, you should create an small post and then make it sticky on the Paid sub board. Saying something like "Most of the freelancers here would ask you a paydown before the work start". (No as a board rule, because it was already discussed here (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,59137.msg294949.html#msg294949) and here (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,60500.msg301048.html#msg301048), but as something that would probably happen). So you could link to it and make it more credible and the members would not reject you if you ask for it. This happened several times already and you should make something abut it. ;)
