Title: [Invalid]: Batch upload not working
Post by: gwertheim on December 28, 2009, 05:46:09 AM
First off, I am unable to use the Browsable interface.

When I try to upload my 300+ pictures, the pictures all load and when I try to view them in the album i selected, and only one is uploaded

First off, I am unable to use the Browsable interface.
That's a know issue - you're on an Windows-driven server, where the batch-add interface doesn't work, as suggested in http://www.wertheimphotography.com/proofs/docs/#known_issues and many threads on this forum. Fix is discussed there as well: don't use the browsable interface then - use the classic interface instead.

You have posted an admin account, which is a very silly thing to do on a public board and not what you're suppossed to do as per documentation (section "asking for support on upload issues"). I have changed that account's password. You better RTFM and think what you do in the future. And don't reply saying "it was a test gallery anyway" - I (or any malevolent user) could have left a backdoor behind on your server and return later at any time to take over your site. Posting an admin account is always silly.

Regular http uploads work as expected (see http://www.wertheimphotography.com/proofs/displayimage.php?pos=-6).
Batch-add works as expected as well (using the classic, non-browsable interface), see http://www.wertheimphotography.com/proofs/thumbnails.php?album=3

Marking thread as "invalid".

But when I try to upload all of my 300, I get only one or two uploaded at a time! Hell, it didn't even upload the first picture

My concerns are valid, Please do not dismiss them. I asked two different EXPERIENCED web developers to test this out and they got the same result as I did.

Hm...
Are you by chance self-hosted?

Godaddy

They have a notorious reputation for crippled webspace - see for yourself: search results for godaddy (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?action=search2;search=godaddy). Are you per chance using their pre-installed flavor of coppermine (I think they call it "value application")?
Your server is very slow, so it's not very surprising that it crashes with only a few files to batch-add. I was able to batch-add 10 files in one go into http://www.wertheimphotography.com/proofs/thumbnails.php?album=3, so I can not replicate your report, although I confess that this took ages. If this bothers you, resize your files on your client before uploading them as suggested in http://coppermine-gallery.net/tutorial/irfanview1.php
Better still: get decent webhosting. You better not use Windows-driven webhosting, it sucks imo.
