Title: Blank page after installation
Post by: sylver on March 16, 2010, 08:57:11 PM
Hi! I'm from Spain, so I hope that you understand me. I've installed Coppermine, but when I click on 'Let's go' I can't log in because my page is blank.

I don't know why. I give the permissions and I upload classic and sample theme :S

Any idea?

Thanx!

Please read the board rules. We require a link to your problematic site with every support request.

We do have a Spanish support board if that would be easier for you.

Lo siento. Sé que hay un foro español, pero le he pedido allí y no tienen una respuesta.

Esta es la página de índice: http://twifansgallery.zxq.net/galeria/index.php

Pero todas las páginas están en blanco

I'm sorry. I know that there's a spanish forum, but I've asked there and I haven't an answer.

This is the index page: http://twifansgallery.zxq.net/galeria/index.php

But all the pages are in blank

http://twifansgallery.zxq.net/galeria/iinstall.php returns a 404 error - make sure that you have uploaded all of the Coppermine files and directories.

I've uploaded all files two times :S. I've installed it well, and then, I've deleted install.php (like I read in a tutorial), but from there all pages are in blank: config, index, login...

Where?

Here http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/275/coppermine-on-iis/

3. After the installation is complete, delete the file install.php from c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Coppermine to ensure that no one can reconfigure the gallery.

My installation is complete, but then I can't do anything :S

Not sure at all why you are referring to those docs. They are poor at best and obviously written by someone who doesn't really know coppermine.

Follow the install as per our docs

http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#installation

You may however find that you are running into limitations of your free hosting.

We can not support you on webserver setup questions. Coppermine runs just fine on any webserver that is properly set up (i.e. that fullfills the minimum requirements). If it doesn't work for you, e.g. if a graphic resource isn't showing up as expected, your webserver setup needs reviewing. The instructions on http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/275/coppermine-on-iis/ are very poor imo, as they don't look into the important chapter "permissions on file system level", that's why you should ignore such a badly written excuse for reading the actual documentation. If you're buying a Porsche, will you read the owner's manual of a Ferrari? Obviously not. Then why bother reading such crap as the documentation you refered to.
