I get this message:

What does that mean?

Upgrade Immediately. You are far behind in versions and are vulnerable to attacks!
The latest stable version is 1.4.26

Create a non-admin test user account.

Cookies (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#admin_cookie_path) can prevent you from logging in, clear your cache and cookies.

Turn off php notices, if you don't understand them.
The one you have is complaining that a key in an array does not exist, ignore it.
