when you unapprove a comment with Akismet deployed - does the unapproved comment get submitted to them to help future filtering?
I have Akismet installed as well as Captcha and I am still getting spam comments - some very obvious such as:

I don't think so, but honestly I don't know that for sure.
I'll edit your posting now (remove the urls), so the spammer won't get further credit.
