Title: voting problem
Post by: flopi on February 08, 2011, 03:24:13 PM
Hi,

Im new with Coppermine gallery and have to admit I dint search a lot for the solution of the problem since it is quite urgent to solve it ;).

Im running art competition for the primary school children based on the 5 star rating/voting sistem. Well the issue is that someone stareted to give bad points to the best pictures in order that their artwork wins (1 to competition and 5 stars to their work). Anyway i tried to cancel these votes through "Overall stats"/vote detailes by reset selected votes but  pop up alarm "THIS FEATURE HAS NOT BEEN IMPLEMENTED YET!!!!! Are you sure that you want to delete the selected votes? This cannot be undone!" and by presing submit nothing happens. Is there solution to erase these votes somehow? If not, would banning of the user erase his votes?

Thanks in advance

Pozz

Afaik there's no automated way yet, unfortunately.

Thanks Andre for urgen response.

And is there a way to delete his ratings when you ban user or is the "manual" removal of ratings too complicated?

As I said:

Have a look at Coppermine's database. Coppermines stores the number of votes and the current average rating. If someone votes on a picture, the new average rating will automatically be calculated. So if you want to removes his votes, you have to calculate the votes out of the average rating (which is a number between 1 and 10000).

Thanks,

Seams to me that Ill have to wait for end of voting process and then make calculation.

What would happend to present votes if i just change it to  1 star rating system? All the pics that had at least one vote will still have vote or this will be erased?
