I have just finished a new install of coppermine. It seemed to work in that I was brought to a login screen and then a basic home screen.
I am up to "Initial configuration" part in the documentation.

Log in with the admin username and password you set up during install, click on the "Show admin controls" link if it is visible, go to the Config page and start to configure your gallery.

I found the show admin controls under the my gallery but no admin page or config page.

I tried adding a couple of photos and all seems fine - I just cannot find the config page

Just click the word "Config" this will take you to the main gallery config page. ;)
