Hello All
I am new to coppermine but not new to PHP and MySQL language
also I want to help developing in translating or improving the version of coppermine
but first thing first and every body has to start somewhere
my question is how can I change the interface language for my coppermine copy to arabic?
if it is not possible how can I translate it manually?
best regads
You can set your default language in the config: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/configuration.htm#admin_language_language
If the language won't change, try to clear your cookies.
thats done the trick
but the problem is that
there is still a lot of links is not translated and a lot of words
can I help in translating them?
best regards
For some reason the initial Arabic translation thread won't show up in this board ??? But for reference, it's that one: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,64494.0.html
If you want to continue that language file, please read the translation docs in advance: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/translation.htm
You should always use the latest available file version from our svn, which you can download here: http://coppermine.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/coppermine/trunk/cpg1.5.x/lang/arabic.php
I am working on it right now
hopefully it will be finished ASAP
but I have 1 question
I found some sentences that does not make much sense
is the mistake yours because the english is not your native language or is it my mistake cause I didnt get it right?
best regards
ok on other thought ;D
that will take a long time cause more than 1/2 of the file is not translated
should I upload the file before I sleep or wait until I finish it? cause I think am gonna finish it eventually. ;)
best regards
this is the latest update for arabic language
I`ll translate more tomorrow
its bed time
see you tomorrow guys :)

Each dev who needs a new language string adds it to the language file. Not all of them are native English speakers, so there might be some translation/context issues.

That's your decision. Each time you upload a new version a dev will add it to our svn repository.

You changed the country code from 'eg' (Egypt) to 'sa' (Saudi Arabia). Are there any language differences in those countries? If so, we might consider to create separate language files.
for the formal Arabic there is no difference
but for slang there are some differences
but because we are using the formal language there is no need for separation :)
Updated in SVN repository.
