I've recently come to notice that there are often white edges around the inside of a thumbnail in my gallery, particuarly photos with a pale blue background. It's quite unsightly and I was wondering if there was anyway known to fix this or whether there is an issue with the coding of the thumbnail images in my css. Many thanks in advance!
Here's an example of the edges: http://i.imgur.com/j0NWh.png
Please post a link to your site. Also, please always attach images rather than hotlink them. The reasons why are explained in the board rules - http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,55415.0.html
I am so sorry for that Phil, I had tried to edit the post but cannot seem to do so right now.
The website link is http://teresapalmerweb.net/gallery - I was thinking it might have had something to do with thumbnail dimensions but I have seen it before with other sizes. Far less noticeable on images with a darker background.
As far as I can see you set your thumbnails settings to 115px x 105px (exact)? Do you use GD2 or ImageMagick to create thumbnails and intermediate-sized pictures?
It looks like it occurs on all thumbnails if you look close enough. Maybe there is some sort of featuring or similar command in Additional command line options for ImageMagick? Ofcourse that doesn't apply if you use GD.
Thank you both for the response. I use GD2 method for creating thumbs/intermediate :)
Yes, sorry. 115x105 (exact) :)
This seems to be a side-effect of the thumb sharpening feature. It doesn't occur if I enable it. Not sure if/how that can be fixed - haven't looked at the code yet.
Indeed, if you look very closely you will find certain parts of the original image are still shown in the now white area. I think I remember reading about this phenomenon somewhere but I cannot find the article right now.
