First look at the picture on your computer and make sure it's not corrupted (you can open it and see the whole thing) Then try uploading it again. Have you had problem with other picture uploads?

is the php_gd2.dll module active in php.ini and in the proper directory ?

Line 547 original php.ini:
extension=extensions\php_gd2.dll Notice that ";" is gone.

Because error occures on bad files (saved BMP with JPG extension) or GD not active.

When using Windows OS you need PHP 4.3.x to let it work properly.

Meveric i downloaded "tn_dsc01742_jpg.jpg" put it in my gallery without a problem.

Maybe your GD version has a bug or uses different commands.
Please check which GD version is installed on the server.
If you don't know please wait for CPG for phpNuke 1.2 it has the Advanced debug mode which shows your GD info.

Please wait for CPG for phpNuke 1.2 or download our CVS version.
It has a Advanced debug mode which reveals your PHP and GD version.

if PHP 3>= 3.0.16 or PHP 4 then PHP supports it.
GD version must be 1.8.3 or higher.

Contact them and ask if they want to install GD 2.x

If not you always have to create the thumb images yourself.
Upload them all and manualy edit your database with phpMySQLAdmin or MySQL-Front
