Title: IPB 1.2 & CPG 1.3
Post by: cxprod on July 07, 2004, 12:40:57 PM
I had success integrating IPB 1.3 and CPG 1.3 with help from a few threads in this forum.

I have a couple IPB 1.2 forums that i don't really want to upgrade due to skin issues & when I try and integrate them with CPG 1.3 I get this error

Fatal error :
There was an error while processing a database query

I'm thinking that there is probably something I will need to change in the invisionboard.inc.php file ...

has anyone had any luck integrating these two?

Whenever you get the "There was an error while processing a database query" message, you need to enable debug mode and post the real error.

Here it is... Im in the process of seraching the forums for something similar..

While executing query "SELECT id as user_id, name as user_name, mgroup FROM `databasename`.ibf_members WHERE id='1' AND password='****'" on 0

mySQL error: Table 'databasename.ibf_members' doesn't exist

databasename is just in place of my real database name... and yes the ibf_members table exisits with members

are your IPB members table and your coppermine tables by chance on different databases?

No, and I was able to get IPB 1.3 and CPG 1.3 integrated by following your advice in other threads about hard coding the header. I just tried it blank as well. I checked the cookies and everything else that worked with the cpg 1.3 when i upgraded from the integration with CPG 1.2 and IPG 1.3 including putting a ./ in front of the forum path..

These are older sites that have a certain theme for IPB 1.2 and I figured getting the integration to work might be easier than trying to figure out how to upgrade the theme for IPB since that seems to be a lot more involved.

I wouldn't even know where to go to see what the difference is between IPB 1.2 and 1.3 and why one works and the other doesn't.

Funny thing is.. I get the same error no matter what I try to change with the bridge file..

the bridge file supplied with coppermine only works for older versions of IPB. There has been a hack for integration with more recent versions of IPB, please search the board.

I am not using  the newest version of IPB ... the newest version is 2.0 and im interested in getting it to work with 1.2 since I got it to work with 1.3 with your newest release and your previous release. (not including the slight upgrade this past month)

Ok.. more info...

I have successfully bridged CPG 1.3.0 with IPB 1.3

I have successfully bridged CPG 1.3.1 with IPB 1.3.1

When I try and bridge CPG 1.3.1 (so i can have custom thumbs for all the videos) with IPB 1.3 i get the errors I mentioned below..

This is not the newest version of IPB...... and GauGau seems to have decided to ignore my thread because he thinks I'm trying to bridge it with the newest versions of IPB....

Can anyone else help me out or point me in the direction of the files that I would need to change to either.. make the custom thumbs possible in 1.3.0 or to get 1.3.1 to successfully bridge with IPB 1.3

something must have changed between CPB 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 so it doesn't work with IPB 1.3. any longer...

Thanks

any thoughts GauGau.. why 1.2 would work with the bridge but when I upgraded to 1.3 to get the custom thumbs to work... it wouldn't connect? any place I can look to modify the files myself and test it out?

Thanks

Ah yes my mistake.. it was Hyperion that installed IPB on his computer to check to see what the problems people were having with the 1.3 upgrade... and IPB...

my apologies...

Does anyone know which files I should look at (besides the bridge and the init include file that could be the issue.. or is this definitely something in the bridge file that i need to find and correct?

Thanks
