I don't now if it exist here.
My webspace limit is full, and coppermine is the reason. So, Is there a way that we can 'upload' pictures, who stay on an external website? And you must only the url of the picture copy in the photo-field?
(This question is asked 10 years ago too. See http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,9796.msg43984.html#msg43984) Is there a sollution?
NO SUPPORT in FEATURE REQUESTS (http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,15866.0.html)
But to answer your question anyway: that's not possible out of the box.
That 's the reason why I choose for another photo gallery. This question is 10 years ago, and you do nothing...

Such a feature hasn't (and won't) been added to the core code, as Coppermine is designed to run your
own gallery, which is hosted at your
own server. But "thanks" for appreciating the effort we all spent for free in our spare time ::)
If you need such a feature badly, it could be achieved quite easily as a plugin (e.g. there already exist the "Remote Videos" plugin, which can embed videos of e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, etc. and also elsewhere-hosted video files). Maybe there already exist a plugin or mod somewhere in our boards. Feel free to search for a solution instead of starting a support thread in the feature requests board.
To be fair we did include URL uploads in CPG1.3.x and CPG1.4.x but for various reasons the feature was dropped and quite rightly so not that it would have saved any space on your server as it simply added images via URL, not embed them. Andre is correct in saying CPG is a gallery designed for self hosting and as such an embed feature should not be in the core code. Maybe pay a freelancer to create a CDN plugin for you if you really must have it.
From another perspective, what you are asking for could easily be abused...
Allowing a link to another site to view a picture would be considered 'hotlinking' - or theft of service (bandwidth) of the other server (no way to tell/enforce that the other server is yours...)
If this were posted on a board offering support, and followed board rules of providing a link to your site, and better indicated what limit you actually exceeded (GB storage or number of files) - I might give suggestions as to how you could address these.

O I found it! Ihe "URL-upload plugin" on Piwigo.org
I mean: a plugin like as Piwigo, but than on an external external (plugin piwigo is with url, but not external). I try the video-plugin as you say
