Been using my gallery to post photos as I travel.  All has been fine for the past month, but today my gallery is blank and I cant work out why or how to fix it...  Any suggestions gratefully received.

Did you edit coppermine files or your theme?
If you make a mistake in a php file may result in a blank gallery.
Downlaod coppermine and take from it only the curve theme.
Rename the curve theme on your server to curve1 and upload the curve theme then try to view your gallery with the curve theme.

Do you have photogallery1/themes folder ?

You already have Coppermine version: 1.5.34 but an upgarde (overwrite with new files) can help: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upgrading.htm#upgrade_any (http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/upgrading.htm#upgrade_any)

I am guessing that there is a 501 error on your server that is being hidden hence you are only seeing a blank page. You may have the option in your cpanel to see the error or you could ask your host what the actual error message is. That will really help in diagnosing the problem.

Firstly, thanks for the help.
I havent changed anything or edited anything in my gallery and I do have a  photogallery1/themes folder.  I tried your suggestion of reloading the curve theme but it made no difference.

I do not know how to interpret all the errors and what they mean, however, when I changed the permissions to 777 and my gallery then produces a 500 Internal error...

I also tryed to load www.jasonandrewmurphy.com/photogallery1/themes/curve/style.css (http://www.jasonandrewmurphy.com/photogallery1/themes/curve/style.css) and it says:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /photogallery1/themes/curve/style.css on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

You should ask support from your host. I belive Phill is right.

Overwrote all /theme files and gallery is now back to normal.  Thanks for all the help.

Not exactly.  While searching through all the files, I noticed that while the directory tree for theme folder and the subdirectories of the actual themes were all there, the were all empty with no files in them.  I re-uploaded the files to the respective theme directories and my gallery showed normally again.

I am unsure who, how or why all the files in my themes directories were deleted but that was the cause.  Some detective work is needed to find out who deleted all the files.

Sometimes the hosting provider moves your website to another server or the server had a crash etc and the coppermine files got corrupted.
I think replacing (overwrite) the coppermine files with new ones may help.
Is not so hard.

Is best to replace all files with new ones.
How knows how many other missing or corrupt files are.

slow down... we know the server crashed with a power failure (I still have some questions about that - but we know the ISP did SOMETHING...) While still some questions to ask/answer - I don't see indications anything was hacked...

If it wasn't there before - or is missing now - I would suggest adding it to Coppermine root directory (or higher in site...)
This prevents getting directory listings of folders without an index.php (or .htm, .html. .shtml, etc) file present.

The 500 error on albums would make me think the index.php file that is distributed in the albums folder is corrupted...
A complete upload of the most recent Coppermine distribution would fix this and any other stray problems...

I think your ISP has some explaining to do... For files not typically updated by Coppermine - they really shouldn't get corrupted by a power event... Very possible to corrupt a file being updated - but the ones we have talked about so far are all static.

Blog.php has been removed - I have no idea how it got there, although it was only uploaded there 3 days ago.

A full upload and upgrade complete and a seperate .htaccess file in my Gallery folder along with the root. 

Im not sure if this has fixed all the above mentioned problems but would appreciate any other suggestions.

Download coppermine and unzip it.
Compare all the files with the ones you have on your server.
They shoud be the same. Just your custom theme end the images from the albums shoud be extra.
Upload even the albums folder. Will not delete your images.

In the folder albums/albums/userpics/10001/, albums/userpics/10002/ etc overwrite index.php with a new blank index.php. Create the blank index.php with windows notepad. Open notepad, choose save as, encoding utf8 and save the file with the name index.php .
