Title: Settings for Private Album
Post by: puro1212 on August 05, 2004, 05:06:25 AM
I just installed Coppermine successfully.  I would like to allow my users to upload pictures to their albums but I don't want them to be able to create multiple albums.  In the other words, I would like to setup in a way that once a user created a Coppermine account, my code will just create a default album for each new user in the background.  When a user upload pictures, the pictures will go straight into the default album without showing anything to users about the album's info.  Can I configure Coppermine this way?

Sorry that I am new to this forum and Coppermine.

Thanks
Scott

has been requested before, is not possible out of the box. Your users will be able by default to create as many albums as they like inside their user gallery. You will have to midfy coppermine to create one album once the user registers and diable the menu item "create/modify my albums" from the user admin menu. This is only possible if you're comfortable with coding php.

Thanks, GauGau.  Do you know if there is any plans for rolling out this feature in the near future?  BTW, how about a feature that let user to pick a "highlight picture" (or "primary picture" or whatever way people call it) of his/her account?  Thanks

there are plans to re-do the whole permissions system, but don't expect this to come out in the near future. There's no telling what features will be in future versions (except the features that are already coded and exist in the devel version).
Please post feature requests on the similarly named board.
