Title: error in update
Post by: togi on August 09, 2004, 03:37:48 AM
how do i find out which update i used caused the error of making my albums not writable?
the chmod 777 is reset and files cant be written to the site...  the hosting company says
there is something wrong with the upadted script... i dont know which one is the culprit...

as far as i remember, my changes where only

1. bring user to his own gallery upon login.
2. email notification.
3. i tried to add bio link but coudnt..

dont know how to go about this... i already talked host domain but they will
not configure or touch 3rd party scripts..

I need the site up as soon as possible, people are pestering me already!
;D

Hope you can help!

Anton

I don't understand your question. Please post a link, a test user account (if applicable, non-admin!) and the exact steps you did and what the actual problem is.

My main problem is i cant upload to the server despite changing chmod both in ftp directory and
config of coppermine. I have done a few updates listed above but cant figure why it doesnt work anymore..
when i check admin and go to batch uploads it says directories are not writable.

OK, now we have a test account, but still no link to your page  ;)
Please understand that settings the default permissions in coppermine config is actually not the same as CHMODing. You usually CHMOD using your ftp software. Did you do that?

oops thought i gave the link before...

http://www.photo.net.ph

why is it that there is one account that can upload? strange.. take a look at front page and
it will show you the last uploads... only that person can upload.. since i had problems...

I set the Chmod from the ftp client but it still resets after awhile.. am using ws_ftp to set it... is
there a better way?

First, you are using version 1.2.1, so you are asking this in the wrong place.  You are advised to upgrade to version 1.3.1.

I did a test upload, and it worked as expected.  If your folders keep having their settings changed, you will need to talk to your host.

Moving to the 1.2 support board.
