I'm having a bit of a problem figuring out why the preview thumbnails of the individual albums would not load...

Shouldn't it load thumbnails of pictures inside the album?

Yes, it's because you are using version 1.3.0, which had this bug. Please upgrade to the latest stable version.
Also, this has nothing to do with upload problems, please post in the correct forums.
