how can i make users and upload pics. I got the program this morning

to create users, log in as admin, click on "users" in the admin menu, click "ceate new user".
To upload, you can
- use ftp-upload (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#batch_add_pics) (into a folder within albums, but not userpics) and then use batch-add from the admin menu (admin function only)
- Use XP_Publisher (http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/manual.php#xp)
- Use http uploads (click on upload in the coppermine menu). Make sure you have set up users are allowed to upload by editing their permissions in groups
Make sure you have set up at least one album where your uploads could go to before actually uploading. Refer to the documentation for details.

it wont let me log in it keeps booting me back to a log in page

search the board for "cookie issue" or similar, this has been asked quite often...
