Title: Rename files
Post by: Omni on September 05, 2004, 03:40:43 PM
Hi!
Is there a way to rename files before or after they are uploaded to the gallery?
E.g. if it used the URI: "http://www.somesite.com/download.php?dpath=/somepath/somefilename &dl=pic.jpg" to upload a file, then the name of this file will be "somefilename &dl=pic.jpg" :-\\ in the gallery.
1)Can the user give another name to this file? (e.g. a "Rename to:" field next to the URI box or in the page with the description fields after the upload proccess)
2)Is there a way for the Admin to rename the files that members have uploaded?

(I know I can rename it "by hand" and then update the DB field using e.g. myPHPAdmin, but I ask if there is a hack/mod uvailable for this task.)

Thanks in advance!

did you have a look at the renaming section within the admin tools? Apart from this, coppermine won't touch the filenames, it will only replace illegal chars in it. Why would you want to rename them - after all, the filenames don't matter, as the database keeps track of the files?

GauGau - its not a problem, but when using search it also searches for the file names which I dont want it to. I only want it to search what I entered into the database of text?
