Title: User post to root gallery
Post by: tvalentine on October 26, 2003, 07:40:57 AM
I hesitate to ask, since I am sure this has been answered before, but I cannot find it after some time searching the site and newsgroups.

I want to give users the right to post to the root directory of albums, or in certain categories.  Currently, users are only able to put new albums in thier own gallery.  I would like them to be able to post to root, or any other categories that are created  If possible, I would like to do this without everyone being an administrator.

Any ideas?

Create an album (or edit an existing album) and in it's Properties change the Permissions to allow visitors to upload pics.  In Groups, make sure settings are correct for each group.  If you only want registered users to be able to upload, make sure you set your groups up that way.

Thanks for the reply.  I think I was not clear in my question.

I would like for users in a certain group, or any group besides admin to be able to create albums and put them either in the root category, or in one of the other categories that have been created.  A "Power User" of sorts.

Is this possible?

Let's mark this as a feature request, cos only admins can add albums and categories.

Because users can add Albums to their "private" albums and those can be shown by other users.
