Ok i started off with nukecpg for phpnuke 1.2.2 and 6 respectivly. I converted my database to postnuke pheonix and nukecpg to 1.3a something. Nukecpg 1.3 is buggy as hell, took a long time to get working and the package was broken from the onset. The support was non existent and the website has since vanished? Is there any support for this version of nukecpg.

If there is, i don't think i'd be much interested. I would however like to convert my nukecpg setup to pncpg (As it atleast seems supported) while retaining my pictures and comments. Is this possible? Are they infact the same, could you please clear this up for me thanks. Am i right in thinking that pncpg works off the standalone version of coppermine?

pnCpg is based on the standalone version of coppermine, this is correct. Support for "Coppermine for CMS" can be found at http://www.nukephotogallery.com, but the site has been abandoned by the team (meaning: there's no actual support for it anymore, but you may find answers to your questions when searching). The nuke team decided to start their own nuke project called "cpgnuke", with the core nuke code being less buggy and more efficient - take a look at http://www.cpgnuke.com/
You are welcome to convert to postNuke and use the pnCpg version, with the benefit that you actually use the well-maintained and stable cpg-standalone core code, with only a small additional connector made and maintained by Cas Nuy that will "only" do the user integration. There are however drawbacks to this method (at least imo, as I don't need a full flavored CMS or portal system, that puts you under regular stress when there are updates etc.). Depending on your skills and what you actually look for on your website, you might as well take a look at the miniCMS mod (on the Mods/Hacks board), as it gives you coppermine plus a small number of pages you can design for yourself that will share the look and feel of your coppermine install and the menu/navigation. If they main emphasis of your site is the photo gallery and you only need some additional pages (like a contact page, an "about" section etc.) the miniCMS would be my recommendation to you.

I understand now, cpgnuke doesn't exactly look to appealing.

The problem is i'm now running postnuke and cpgnuke and want to convert to running postnuke and pncpg while keeping my photos and comments. Is there a script for this available, i have version 1.3a of nuke cpg running.

Thanks

There's actualy not much difference.

- You need to find which queries are executed at the install of 1.2 -> 1.3 standalone
- Your *_pictures table has a field 'filepath' which maybe has to be changed.
There are 2 kinds of users in this world: satisfied and complainers.
Why do we never hear something from the satisfied users?
