I wanted to change the album folder... from the default folder (Coppermine/albums) to the /files/albums folder.

That folder is relative to my website's root...

I re-installed coppermine by zero... and chosen /home/apache/Sito/files/albums as "album folder" in the configuration panel.

All my old pictures appeared in the "add images" function....

but after creating the thumbnails.... the Coppermine engine show me a lot of broken links.... there are NO well linked images...

AFTER seeing all links broken in my album... i tryed to change the "album folder" from "/home/apache/Sito/files/albums" to "/files/albums"... and all images re-appeared...

But the problems is that with THAT configuration, no folders appears in the "add image" page...

So there is NO solution about putting my BIG files elsewere from the Coppermine directory?
Can't i simply choose another dir?

I want to place my images elsewere from the Coppermine's folder to backup my web site without my images...

you have to create folder(s) within the albums folder and ftp-upload your pics there, that's what will turn up using batch-add. The path to the albums folder that is being set in coppermine config should be a relative path - usually it's fine to leave the default path "albums". I recommend re-reading the documentation.

Sorry but i simply think that it is a coppermine bug...

What about if I want to set another folder? I can't?

Ftp? I use coppermine locally so i don't use ftp and I have only 1 user in my coppermine gallery.

I'm simply saying that a default installation of Coppermine, using a relative link in the "albumfolder" option, DON'T WORKS....

Cause first he takes the images from the directory I want.... he create thumbnails.... and AFTER that all the images are a broken link...

That's a bug i can resolve only doing a virtual link (ln -s) with linux...
But that don't resolve my problem... i can't simply backup all my we site's files separated from my photos...

OK, I think I understand what you're refering to: there are some known issues/bugs with hardcoded links going to the folder named "albums" instead of respecting the entry made into coppermine config (please refer to http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=9194.0 for a fix).
