I set up Coppermine for a friends gallery, but everytime he logs in, it tells him his browser doesn't accept script cookies. But he's already set his browser to allow all cookies. Any idea's on what might be wrong? Or any suggestions on how to fix it?

Nibbler

Can you post a link ?
have you tried the gallery from a diff computer ?
.. and have you changed any of coppermine's cookie settings ?

I have tried it on my computer using both Firefox and Internet Explorer. It seems to work fine for me.

And no, I haven't changed any of the Cookie settings.

Nibbler

Looks ok for me too, he may have some security software blocking the cookies.

To add to what Nibbler said: make him review his privacy/security settings in IE, and make him (temporarily) shut down "internet security" software (the name being somewhat inadequate in most cases, it should instead be "paranoia and false sense of security software). Norton products are notorious for fiddling with cookie settings, that's the first place I'd take a look at.

this is really weird, i'm able to access my site from the comp i always use, but now i cannot from my other one. There are no security issues with my internet explorer, its just not working right.

Also, a lot of my users said that they got the same error (due to cookies)

when can we get coppermine out of cookies and into secure sessions?

Probably never, sessions (currently) don't work as expected on all server setups, that's why we'll stick with cookies.
IE comes with a granular control labelled "privacy" settings - in fact it's cookie settings, so this is the place to look (as suggested above).

another caution is that windows xp sp2 makes a LOT of changes to internet security, while I know of nothing specific a Machine with XP SP2 may have brand new issues with cookies.

If you suspect is the case start reading the XP SP2 notes, and the information Microsoft has posted regarding the SP2 "Features"... and I use that term loosely.  ;D

lol, ironically, the computer that doesn't work with the coppermine does NOT have sp2 installed. I'll try to install sp2 on the one that doesn't to see if that helps.

did you take a look at the privacy settings in IE as suggested? Post a screenshot of the options screen if you're not sure.
