When a new user tries to register, it says registration email cannot be sent.  I went in the 'include' folder and changed the mailer.inc.php to my settings.  I saw there was an install.lock in the include folder as well.  Is this supposed to be there?  Also, when I put my settings in and tried to register a new user, it still did not work.

leave install.lock in place - it keeps wannabe-hackers from trying to run installp.php twice (ruining your install)!
Does the ecard feature work? Both ecard and registration email use the same mailing routines. What settings did you enter in mailer.inc.php? Those you use on your local machine may not be appropriate on your web server as well. Basically, this can be found out requesting help from your webhost.

No, I can't send ecards either.  When I ask my host to help me, what will I be asking for?  The smpt information for sending email????
