I'm trying to upload a short movie (20Mb) and get: The document contains no data.  ??? Using Firefox on w2k.

Any suggestions would be grately appreciated!

This thread has been split from the thread "General Upload Troubleshooting". Don't try to hijack a generic, sticky thread with a particular issue.

This is not a "short movie" in web terms, a file this size can not be uploaded over http uploads means on "regular" shared webhosts. You (as coppermine admin) should ftp-upload this huge file into a sub-folder (you have to create one first) of the albums dir and then use batch-add to add the movie to the coppermine database. I'm convinced this huge file could/should be resized before you upload, as such a file is hardly suitable for distribution over a web page. You might want to take a look at the free "Windows Media Encoder" that is available on Microsoft's home page for a start.

why don't you make it a nicer place then by posting if my suggestion did solve your issue :-\\? If there's something you don't understand about http uploads and server-sided settings, then let me know and I'll explain it to you as well. If you don't want me to reply at all, just tell me so as well and I'll set you on my "ignore list". After all I used one line to tell you why I split the threads and three lines to actually give you support. But probably you're right, if users think this board is hostile I should stop posting to it, will certainly improve things. This being said: bye.

If you hadn't misbehaved, GauGau wouldn't have had to correct you. Instead of taking responsibility for your action, you disrespect one of the biggest contributors to this support forum.

Now, countless people will be deprived of GauGau's wisdom and insight. :\'(

A curse on you, Kanon.  >:(
