Mass add categories and sub-cats?

Is there anyway to add mass categories at a time? I need to add 30 or so sub categories to a category and need easier way to do this instead of reloading catogary (285+ categories) every time.

search the board for timer.php, it was a script originally done by Nibbler if my memory serves me correctly, I made some mods to it, and it will create the structure and add pics based on directory structure in the albums directory.

i dont think that mod does the same thing that i am looking for.

I need to add categories (as if i was adding categories using the cat manager)

CAT A
*cat 1
-sub cat 1
-sub cat 2
-sub cat 3
-sub cat 4

CAT B
*Cat 2
-sub cat 1
-sub cat 2
-sub-cat 3

so on and so forth all the way to 30+ categories that i need to add... without having to load the cat manager.
