One thing I like about Imageshack is that when you view a full sized image that is larger than the screen resolution it automatically scales down the image size to fit the screen. you can then click this scaled image to view the full sized image. Is it possible to implement this in Coppermine? At the moment when you view a full image of say 2560 x 1696 pixels size you get an image far bigger than the screen, which seems a tad awkward.

Here is an example of what I mean (I'm trying to move an Imageshack album to Coppermine)
Image shack example: http://img286.imageshack.us/img_viewer_framed.php?loc=img286&image=p73106877jt.jpg&gal=img286/8403/ganoush9bp.jpg  (Click "See Full Size Image")
Coppermine: http://www.jpaarons.net/annalena/album/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=6 (Just click on image)

I see no valid reason to add another intermediate image - Coppermine already has thumbnails, intermediate images, and the original fullsize images.

Maybe you didn't understand me. I'm not requesting another intermediate image. What I am requesting is the ability for the full sized image to be automatically scaled down to the full-screen resolution if it is larger than that resolution. This doesn't require an intermediate image - it just requires a bit of javascript that scales the image down 9this is how Imageshack does it, i think).

If you come up with such a mod, feel free to post it.  This isn't a feature that will go into a future version of Coppermine.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't think I'll try to do this mod myself - I'm not too hot with this sort of thing. But I'd love it if someone else could implement it. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to modify the script that Imageshack uses for this to work in Coppermine. Any takers?

As this is the features request board, requesting a mod is inappropriate.  Please post your request on the freelancers/paid help board.

Thanks kegobeer. Sorry to be a newbie pain.

I think I've found a good solution in the mods section: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=19425.0
