i'm using version 1.3.2. i think its been hacked but if i download to a new version, will i lose the pics??? if so, where do i save the pics?? most are uploaded by urls and some uploaded onto the site.

i'm not a techy person so i'm pretty confused. thanks!

Tranz

Are the pics still there after having been "hacked"? The upgrade process would not make you lose your pictures nor their associated info. Just make sure to follow the upgrade instructions in the docs folder, or the Documentation link above and you'll be fine.

gretchi

i can't really tell. i forgot to post the link.

I can't tell either since the gallery is down... You would need to use an FTP client to check out your albums folder.

The error shows that important files are missing. The upgrade would replace those files.

While looking for those critical files, I got a 404, which is understandable, but the 404 page was on another domain. Is that expected?

well i went into my include folder on ftp and nothing is in there. i think the hacker took it away.

gretchi

ok i think my pics has been deleted too! my albums folder has been deleted :(

That's why keeping your apps (not only Coppermine) current is just as important as frequent backups. I'm sorry though that you had to learn this the hard way.

gretchi

luckily, my pics are still there. just trying to figure out which databases to delete cause i think i have 2 versions in there. i dont know

well i didn't know i had to do that, again, i'm not a programmer

you don't need config.php anymore it's for older versions. 1.4.x use admin.php instead.
you need to upgrade your themes too.
‍I don't answer to PM with support question
Please post your issue to related board

gretchi

ooh that explains why.

yea i upgraded them and i hope i did them right.

Joachim Müller

Well, if you upgraded, then this is no longer a cpg1.3.x issue, so I'll lock this thread. In the future, respect the "one issue per thread" policy!
