I'm trying to update some thumbnails after I've uploaded different size versions of the pictures, but it won't work. In Admin Tools I select 'Update thumbs and/or resized photos (1)' > Both thumbnails and resized pictures > select the album > submit ... it tells me the thumbs have updated successfully, but when I check them they have not changed.

When I choose the 'Reload file dimensions and size information (1)' option that appears to work, just not the updating thumbnails option.

I just upgraded to 1.4.12 and my permissions on the folders are correct.

Any help would be appreciated...

Make sure you clear your browser cache after updating.

Post a link to where we can see the problem.

Ensure the permissions of the files allow them to be overwritten with new ones. Check on the files via FTP and see if the modification dates have changed.

ah, i chmodd-ed the .jpg files themself and that seems to have worked. I've never had to do that before to edit the thumbnails that way ... would this be something to do with the server i'm on, or is there something I can do with coppermine to not have to chmod files whenever i want to edit files in util.php (but only chmod folders).

thanks so much Nibbler.

Check your config setting for 'default mode for files'.
