Hi all,

I'm thinking of possibly using coppermine for my site (zipped videos for download) in the future but first I have a question to seen if it is possible to accomplish what I want.
The past few days I've been looking through coppermine sites and themes to see how everything is built up. My PHP knowledge is low, but I have some experience theming a site. What I want to do is have a different frontpage than the standard one. I found out how to edit everything through the template, but that's not all I want.

So for instance is it possible to show:
- album1 -> thumbnail of latest added file +five textlinks to the next added files
- album2 -> thumbnail of latest added file +five textlinks to the next added files
- album3 -> thumbnail of latest added file +five textlinks to the next added files
- latest added file of all the other galleries but the 3 mentioned above + 5 textlinks to the next added files
- show 1 random file at a customsied location (for instance in a side menu)

I haven't started theming yet, but I would like to know if this is possible before I start a new project. For me it doesn't really matter if this is accomplished through the templates or if all this can be added to an external file which will be used as frontpage of the site.

Thanks in advance!

Well, seeing no replies I assume it's impossible, so maybe I should try something more simple. Is it possible to leave everything the way it is but only show text links without a thumbnail?

Nibbler

It's possible, but it would be a rewrite of index.php as opposed to a modification and no one wants to come up with the code for it. :)

Thanx anyway, I won't burn my fingers by trying then, my PHP-knowledge is not good enough to do this...

Great software, just not what I'm after, thnx and good luck!
