Not sure if CPG will work for me...

I've installed CPG on my website to try something different. I've been using Gallery and have found it to be a bit cumbersome and slow loading. I've also had problems upgrading it.

CPG loads pages & images very fast, and I love the batch uploading tools. The only problem I have is that I'm not able to create sub albums.

What I had before (which is what I need to duplicate with CPG); 3 Albums
- Public Photos
- Friends Photos
- Family Photos

Friends should only be able to see their pics, and Family should only be able to see their pics (not eachothers), and everyone can see Public Photos.

I have about 8000 images to include, which means many sub albums. It seems the only way to have a heirarchy is using categories, but can I his categories from different users? Is this not more confusing than just having a heirarchy of 'folders' which contain pictures?


I think I am asking for something that CPG inherently doesn't offer. Can you please confirm my worry?

- Create 2 User group (and put users) :
     . Friends
     . Family
- Cretae 3 Public Album:
     .Public Photos
     .Friends photo
     .Family Photo
- Edit the Friends photo Album properties and set the Album can be viewed by to Friends Group
- Same for Family Album

In this way only You As admin and members of Friends group can see the friends album and ...
Don't forget to set "Users can have private albums" to YES

I got this far with no problem, I guess what more I need is the ability to add sub-albums to Friends, Family and the Public Albums. Is this possible?
