Cannot Reach Site After Installing Friendly URL Plugin

After hitting the install link for the friendly url plugin my gallery is now unreachable by it's url which is http://brownsista.com/gallery/index.php .I searched and found a thread that said I should uninstall it which is what I did but I still cannot reach the gallery.

[Update] I first deleted the sef plugin from the plugins folder because I could no deactivate it because I cannot reach any part of my gallery.So I went to look around in cpanel to see if I could do anything to fix it in there and I saw the gallery needed to be upgraded so I did that as well, all via Fantastico.I thought maybe the upgrade would fix me but it didn't.I still can't reach any part of the gallery and sef folder is back in the plugins folder.

Any help is fixing this problem would be most appreciated

- Do Not use fantastico it's buggy , instead download most recent version (currently 1.4.9) from here and install it manually
- you shouldn't delete sef folder at all ! you should delete sef from xxx_plugins table on database
- also delete .htaccess file on gallery root

Thank you... my gallery is back up 

It came back up after just deleting the plugin from the databse.I don't have an .htacess file. It says .htaccess.bkp. I didn't delete that... should I?

Doesn't matter, as it won't be taken into account. You can savely remove it.
