smf bridge groups

after enabling fine grain auth in bridge settings the groups from smf now appear in 'groups' in cpg and i can change some perms but...
1. How are bridge permissions defined, do they stack to form the most restrictive perms? the least restrictive?
2. How can I give a user group permission to create public albums?
3. How can i give a user group pemission to 'approve' pictures that require approval?
4. Users are having problems uploading pictures to galleries that allow upload but require approval, what permissions are required for this to happen?

The answer to those may actually be a brief description of whats getting looked for where in the db when it comes to perm lookups -- although I have no idea how cpg works so.

I know its one question per thread, but all those really come from my two objectives of questions 2/3 (which themselves are related).

Update -- I cannot add users to the smf 'administrators' group because that gives them full access to DB settings, which is unacceptable.

Users get a combination of the least restrictive permissions of each group they are members of. Coppermine does not support any moderator abilities although there are some hacks around.

If you don't trust people to administer SMF, then don't trust them to administer Coppermine neither. Admin privileges in both apps can be (ab)used (by accident or on purpose) to ruin your entire site, set up back doors etc.

Not at all.

As Nibbler suggested: there's a mod for this - see "Moderators for Upload Approval (1.4.x)"

Do as suggested in the upload troubleshooting section of the docs - start a new thread for this issue in the corresponding support board.



In the future, respect the "one question per thread" policy you agreed to when signing up. None of your issues are related to bridging, so usually we'd be moving yur thread to the most appropriate board. As you broke the "one question per thread" rule, we can't. Locking. If you have further issues, re-read the board rules and do as suggested there.
