Hallo all. If your a total noob like me at php then i hope this post will help you in creating a welcome note (custom header) thats really easy to do and has a step by step guide to making it happen. I've searched all through this forum for an easy way of creating an introduction and found nothing that was simple for us noobs....so this why i'm posting this!

STEP 1.
Go into your admin area....and click on 'Album list view'....then go down to 'The content of the main page' and put this in the line: anycontent/breadcrumb/catlist/alblist/
What this does is displays the anycontent.php file first... which is basically your welcome note or Introduction to your gallery. then save your configuration.

STEP 2.
Find your anycontent.php which is in the main directory....and open it with your php editor.
go down to the table that has 'This is for any content block - just a test - Edit the file "anycontent.php" to change what is shown here.' And replace the text with your introduction to your gallery or whatever else you want.
The header will show welcome and this can be replaced by going to this line in the anycontent.php:

starttable("100%", "Welcome- you can put any intro you want here");

STEP 3.
save and upload your anycontent.php to your server and BANG!
you now have an introduction to your gallery!

I hope this helps all you coppermine NooBs  ;D

Anycontent is exactly what it means....so you don't just have to create a welcome note...you can put in anything you like...

Can you tell me how to get rid of the  welcome message that Coppermine puts on there? The one that says "Feel free to change this to fit your own idea of a welcome message or get rid of it altogether" but then doesn't tell you how. O.o I've been searching the documentation for about 3 hours now and I can't find it.   :-[

Don't enable anycontent in "the content of the main page" if you don't need it at all. By default, it is disabled - you must deliberately have enabled it. Another option would be to empty the entire content of the file anycontent.php (use a plain text editor). Pretty basic HTML (with PHP if you want), no particular Coppermine magic.

Actually, that's just the table header. The stuff beneath it determines the actual content.

I can't see the point in this thread - looking at anycontent.php with a plain text editor should give you an idea what it does.
