I am a newcomer. Is it possible to assign keyword to multiple files (e.g. all the within one album) simultaneously. As I read it album keywords do not work for this purpose any longer.

Not possible using the coppermine user interface. You'll have to use a third-party tool like phpMyAdmin to run a query that adds particular keywords to several database entries for a particular album.

Thank you, I quess that solved the problem. What about adding keywords in a cataloging program like iView, Portfolio or even Photoshop Lightroom or Adobe Bridge before uploading the files. Do the keywords show in Coppermine. Actually would it be a good addition to Coppermine to be able to add keywords to multiple files frorm the user interface?

Coppermine comes with support for IPTC and EXIF meta data. However, they are not being taken into account in terms of keywords, they just get displayed along with the file display. So the answer to your question is: no, meta data created by the apps you mentioned are not being taken into account.

Thanks again.

What about my suggestion to improve Coppermine in this respect. Easy to propose when being unable to do it. But still... I have not a long experience of Coppermine. However, it is something I had looked for (or even more), but had not found even in expensive commercial "Photography Sites" available at high price. The possibility to add keywords to multiple entries would be the only improvement I could think about. At least at the present. As I said I am not good at writing code. I would imagine the facility could be something like album independent list of keywords from, which you could pick them to files in different albums. In addition there could still be the file spesific keywords. That' how the issue is taken care of in oneone Portfolio. Though I am not sure whether it can be coded, athough there is a server version of Portfolio too.

Anyway as I said I am more that happy with Coppermine as it is.
