Hi, I've looked around other topics but can't find anything that applies to my problem. Whenever I try to log in to my gallery it says "welcome Jo" but then takes me back to the main page and hasn't logged me in at all. I've tried to retrieve my password (even though I know it) and it says "user does not exist".

I've recently changed my sites domain name but the gallery has been fine since then but now I'm having this problem. I installed it through fantastico which is on my server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

some of my users are having the same problem.. they log in.. they get the "welcome [name]" message and when they click continue they are logged out again. I advised them to click "home" or "album list"at the top menu instead, but that still doesn't work for them. Could it have something to do with cookies or anything? As it all seems to work fine for me?

Post a link to your gallery for a start. Upgrade! Don't use Fantastico in the future.

I upgraded to 4.12 yesterday afternoon and told my visitors to check cookie settings, try other browsers (e.g Firefox, as I'm not having any problems myself, using that), and to shut down any firewalls and try again. But still some are having problems..
I created a test registered account..

link: http://thefilans.net/gallery
account: test
pass: coppermine

I just thought about this.. but could it have to do with using "http://" instead of "http://www." or the other way around?
Any help is appreciated!

Be consistent of your use of the leading www subdomain or (even better) force your visitors to use one way or the other (by creating a .htaccess file -> is explained in various threads on this board). Logging in works fine. May be related to third-party apps on visitor's clients (notorious "Norton Internet Security" comes to mind) or to paranoid cookie settings. Login works fine for me using the test user account you provided. Seems to be a PEBKAC-issue as you already guessed yourself.

P.S. I noticed that you have edited your custom theme to display a login link even if the user is already logged in. That's of course nonsense. If you want this to be fixed, start a separate thread on the themes board, attaching your zipped custom theme folder

Thank you very much for the help. I just knew it wouldn't be me having done something wrong, as a lot of users are fine using it.
And I noticed the login link thing too so will look into that too.

Hello,

I have lost my password to my coppermine picture gallery, is there any way of going into the data base and retreiving it?

I would really appreciate some assistance, thanks.

1) It's not a bright idea to reply to a solved thread with an entirely different question. Start a thread of your own after having searched the board (as this has been asked and answered several times already) if your search doesn't return the desired results. Locking this thread.
2) It's not a bright idea to post your email address on a public board, especially since there's no individual support by email. All this will do is resulting in email harvesters indexing your email address, which will result in more spam sent to your mailbox. Editing out your email address.
