I am having trouble to view the gallery index. Well i am not having trouble but every one else is. When trying to go to http://www.horsesaway.com/gallery/index.php a download window appears and attempts to DL the index.php file. I can view any other file, but when i try to go to the index it will not work. Has anyone else had this problem, or can help me out please ?!?!?!?

Thank You

ps. on my laptop i may view the gallery like normal, but not on any other computer myself or anyone i know has...

Verify that your host is providing you PHP.

all pages in my site, and all other sites i develop use php on the server i am on. Nothing else has a problem except the gallery index.php, come on i am not a newbie.

DesignerPill

If i change the index to .html it does the same thing. I can go to login.php and everything works, i can even login, but when it puts me back to the index page the browser attempts to download the file/directory i am in.

I downloaded the file, and it is just rubbish.  I suggest you upload a new index.php, and see if that helps.
It has been a long time now since I did my little bit here, and have done no coding or any other such stuff since. I'm back to being a noob here

also, look out for any .htaccess file in the coppermine folder that might spoil your index page.

i feel like no one is actually reading what i am saying, or i dont speak my own language very well..... (please excuse the irritance)

PHP is workin on the server, there is nothing wrong with the php file, as far as i know, you can not download php thru a browser, it will be encrypted..... of course it's gonna be gibberish.. it also tries to download the directory if you dont give it an absolute url to the index. try goin here :

http://horsesaway.com/gallery
or
http://horsesaway.com/gallery/index.php
but this works!
http://horsesaway.com/gallery/login.php

version 1.0 work fine also : http://horsesaway.com/gallery1

I can view the index from this computer, the one i am workin on the site with, but not from any others. I highly doubt it is a setting in IE or the my server even, but i am still open to suggestions....

Thanx

i did try this, no dice. i was almost sure that was it at one point.

just to make sure this is not related to the folder: please rename http://horsesaway.com/gallery/index.php to http://horsesaway.com/gallery/test.php and check if you can open it in other user's browser. If you can't, copy http://horsesaway.com/gallery/test.php into http://horsesaway.com/gallery1 and check if it works there.

no good if i rename it to test.php

i can move test.php to gallery1/ and i get an error for undifined function call , but thats just due to the includes not being found.

but i guess then atleast the page is being touched.

Is the problem fixed?  I am having no trouble whatsoever seeing your index page as intended. (It's purple and a "True Equestrian Resource".   :) )

Mind your manners. I shouldn't need to warn you about that.
