I am releasing a modified version of coppermine with support for flash video/video conversion via FFmpeg and have a question.

I've read section 8.4.2.3 of the documentation and am not clear on the allowed naming of my project.

I want my project name to not include the Coppermine name, is this allowed? The examples only show names with Coppermine in them.  (I will of course adhere to the rest of the license and include full credit)

In terms of the license (GNU GPL), you could name your project as you like, but in terms of respecting intelectual properties (comparing the amount of code that comes from coppermine and the amount of code you have added), you definitely should make it clear that your package is based on coppermine. FFMPEG support has even been posted as a mod, so as far as I can judge from your posting, there is little genuinely new to your project. That's one more indiciation that you should at least respect author attribution by choosing a wise name. Additionally, the license add-on (covered by the GNU GPL) says that you have to give credit to coppermine in the footer anyway.
We're keen to see what you have done so far, so why don't you post a link to what you have so far? This would as well give us the opportunity to come up with naming suggestions.

Thanks for the reply.

I've decided to release my project as a mod pack similar to stramm, so I can keep the flexibility of the project name as well as preserve the credit of the great work you guys have done on coppermine.

In regards to the current features of my project, it adds a new button to the admin panel and from within this you can upload videos (videos go to new convert/ folder) , convert videos from this folder to .flv and generate a thumbnail, both are named correctly and placed in a user assigned folder in the albums directory.
